POSITION: Email Marketing Specialist

REPORTS TO: Associate Director of Analytics and Relationship Marketing

CLASSIFICATION: Regular full-time, Exempt with Benefits

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Email Marketing Specialist will optimize, plan, and execute SF Ballet's email marketing campaigns. Primary focus on developing strategies, determining messages, documenting and tracking efforts in Tessitura, and gathering and analyzing data.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In collaboration with the Associate Director of Analytics and Relationship Marketing, develop email strategies and execution plans.
  • Implements email marketing plans. Duties include but are not limited to planning the email schedule in alignment with key sales dates and product launches, gathering information and content, copywriting in the appropriate tone and style, routing to appropriate stakeholders, segmenting database, and deploying the email campaign.
  • Notable skill in promotional marketing copywriting required with exemplary attention to detail. Proofreading for accuracy, testing all links and conditional content, and checking the mailing list before importing.  
  • Responsible for analyzing email campaign reports. Pull data (open rate, CTR, revenue etc) from email platform on a regular basis. Use data to optimize future communications to drive engagement statistics.
  • Strategize new campaign ideas and A/B testing opportunities to increase engagement.
  • Coordinate email and social media post schedule with Social Media Manager to maximize engagement.
  • Work with design and content teams to ensure brand consistency across emails.
  • Monitor and improve call to actions, email templates, lifecycle automations and more to improve user experience and growth opportunities.
  • Responsible for understanding the basic concept of how the email platform works, learning the features and tools of the email platform, and to train themselves on how to use them. Manages and have the knowledge to create automations.

Requirements

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Professional/Technical Competencies

  • 3+ years of experience with Prospect2, Wordfly, or similar ESP
  • Experience with email automation, execution and expansion of email campaigns.
  • Experience with basic HTML as it relates to email templates is a plus.
  • Experience with evaluating email performance metrics.
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Exemplary writing skills
  • Communicates with others in a manner that ensures clear and mutual understanding of information.
  • Demonstrates appropriate treatment of sensitive or confidential information.
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and performs effectively multiple duties and responsibilities simultaneously leading to a successful completion of assigned projects.
  • Demonstrates ability to work successfully in a team environment.
  • Ability to respond and perform in a flexible and supportive manner to short lead-time projects covering a broad range of tasks.
  • Exercise sound judgment, decision making, and problem-solving skills, while also communicating the need for further clarity or direction.

Education Level and Focus

  • College degree or commensurate experience in email marketing.

Years and Type of Experience Required

  • 3+ years in email marketing.

Special Equipment Used

  • PC (Microsoft Office Suite), Tessitura, and Prospect2/Active Campaign.
